Another very common type of ND filter in photography, especially landscapes, is GND (Gradual ND).This type of filter differs from a normal ND filter in that it cuts light gradually from top to bottom(left to right depending on how the filter is set)

When attaching GND to the lens, the upper part of the image (the black part) will be the part that has the light cut the most and gradually reduces to 0 when it goes below the filter.So what effect does this type of filter have???Does this make us think that we have to cut the light in the top half of the photo?So when?Simply when the top half of the image is too bright compared to the bottom half —->Sunset, dawn or daytime... at this time the amount of light distributed is quite different between the two halves of the horizon. If we do not use a filter, we will encounter 1 of 2 cases:

– If the sky is beautiful —->The house below is dark

– The house is bright enough —>The sky is still there, white
